Julia and Kevin face the Borg while having Tribbles with the electorate
In the Star Trek universe the Borg were the ultimate enemy, cold calculating and utterly relentless, no matter what those who faced them did they would be assimilated and their intelligence and technology would be added to the collective to enhance and advance its endless desire for domination. To read some leftist blogs anyone would think that Tony Abbott and the coalition were nothing short of being a contemporary version of that fictional future foe. Well now it looks as if Labor is on the brink of raising Rudd from the the charnel house of dead leaders in the shallow hope that he can save the ALP from political extinction:
Maybe Labor needs to remember that they are not living in the 24th century and that Rudd is no Jean Luc Picard and Gillard is not Katherine Janeway either. However I do think that they should pay heed to the Borg’s usual announcement:
We are the Borg. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
Labor’s woes are more than merely Trouble with tribbles but they certainly have multiplied like those small cute furry beasts … Sadly for Labor the grain that sustains its tribbles is not at all poisonous to small cute furry beasts, it is to the ALP though.
Cheers Comrades
