The “Labor of our days” mid season cliff hanger as the franchise faces cancellation

Isn’t it proving to be a great freak-show soap opera in the Labor party at present?

While all and sundry are thinking that the result of the spill on Monday will be a Labor government that will last  until 2013 I can’t help but think that what we are really seeing is more like this:

Even Labor supporters must by now concede that a minority government led by either Rudd or Gillard is going to be like something from Alice in Wonderland and that even if Rudd gets back in the big chair he will not be any sort of White Knight for the  ALP.

A "white knight" , but not as we know it

And all the while its the Libs under Tony Abbott who are offering what the people really want:
Isn’t this just the best cliff-hanger ever?

We have the evil queen bee of the franchise in the fight of her life against the resurrected Labor “Saviour” who is trying a loves and fishes trick with caucus votes while in the Garden of Gethsemane various disciples of the party try desperately to find a path to electoral salvation. All the while Mephistopheles (Tony Abbott according to the Latte sippers)  watches on with that evil glint in his eye secure that whoever wins the ballot on Monday that his arch rivals will be brought low …

Only time will tell if they can get another season for the Labor franchise but I’m betting that they won’t get the ratings again for a very long time.

Cheers Comrades
