I have been arguing for years that carbon trading schemes are virtually Ponzi schemes that are bound to collapse and the European scheme certainly seems to be following the script that I imagined. The fringe benefit of this is clearly watching the Australian Labor Party making even greater fools of themselves every time their “fixed price” Carbon tax rises as it is scheduled to do in June. If our “Carbon price” is already many times the price of European traded value imagine the pain felt by Labor when the carbon tax rises and the European price falls yet again as I think it will.
So I ask again does anyone seriously think that, after the election, any Labor MP or senator will inflict further pain upon the greatly depleted party by opposing the repeal of this ludicrous carbon tax and all of its accompanying administrative apparatus?
The party is a laughing stock now so just imagine how silly it will look standing up for the tax that has utterly destroyed its credibility.
When I saw this latest vid from Pat Condell my thoughts immediately turned to Damian Doyle who is always so quick to attack me every time I post something that is even vaguely critical of Islam. So it is to him and to all of those minions of the left who bend over backwards to defend the “religion of peace” with cries of “Islamaphobia” whenever it is even mildly criticised that I dedicate this post.
Just one more question Damian, do you have any Gay friends and how do you reconcile Islam’s murderous attitude towards homosexuality with those friends?

Once again we see the spectacle of the of the Palestinians crying poor poor pitiful us because Israel has quite rightly lost all patience with their constant provocation in firing missiles into Israel. Once again we see them deliberately using the bodies of their own children as disposable shields so that they can claim that Israel is monstrous for defending their right not have missiles fired constantly at them from Gaza. Once again we have the usual suspects in the media making much of the death toll in Gaza without even considering that the culpability lays entirely with the constant provocation from Hamas and its affiliates. As I have often said in another context ” if you keep poking a sleeping lion with a sharp stick don’t be surprised if he turns around and eats you or your children” Sadly it suits the religious zealots who lead Hamas to have the reality of their own dead and maimed children front and centre in the world’s media because then they can claim to be victims and their own part in the suffering of the people of Gaza can be ignored. After all when you believe that the next life is more important than this one then what does it matter if a few children are sent into the paradise of martyrs? But I can’t help thinking that when these young martyrs come to enjoy their virgins that their heaven will be more of akin to a paedophile’s dream time than anything else.

Ah isn’t this story a beauty? To may mind it shows the utter contempt that so many followers of the “religion of peace” have for our secular institutions and the generosity of our governments towards private eduction providers:
Now if this was a school being run by Christians there would be a huge outrage from the the latte sippers demanding that all government funds be withdrawn from all private schools but my guess is that the usual suspects will begin to claim that this school has been targeted because of “Islamophobia” and or bigotry. Rorting is still rorting and that brings me to my second citation this morning which is the Paul Sheehan‘s piece in the Fairfax press about the amount of monetary assistance that is offered to the so those who arrive on the boats, many of whom are followers of the same faith as Mr Patel
Under intense political pressure, the federal government is emptying the detention centres by issuing bridging visas which allow detainees to enter the community, work, and receive welfare benefits before their final status has been determined. This has slashed the average time spent in detention from nine months to three months but the quicker turnover has compressed the scrutiny process.
Some of the high take-up of welfare payments among asylum seekers and refugees is being recycled into bringing relatives to Australia, including via people smugglers.
The Royal Australian Navy is being used as a pick-up service by people smugglers who call navy vessels to advise them of their need for assistance.
Little wonder that numbers are exploding. In the three years before the election of the Rudd government, 71 people arrived on 10 illegal boats. It took a year for the impact of Labor’s dismantling of the previous border security regime to kick in. Over the past three years 341 illegal boats have brought 20,248 asylum-seekers. Another 363 have drowned. Uncounted others have perished or turned back.
All these problems are personified by ”Captain Emad”, who fled Australia in June even though he had been under investigation by police. The man, Abu Khalid, was a people smuggler who came to Australia by passing himself off as an asylum seeker. He brought his wife, three children and a grandchild. All received refugee status, settled in Canberra and were provided with public housing despite using different identities to those they used to enter Indonesia from Iraq. Yet even after Khalid’s activities were exposed by the ABC’s Four Corners program, he was allowed to leave.
Systemic deceit has been rewarded by systemic support. Even some asylum seekers who have avoided immigration control, destroyed their identity documents and not yet had their claims decided are eligible for support under the Asylum Seeker Assistance Scheme.
Among the benefits that can be made available to those granted protection visas, and those granted refugee status, is a one-off household formation package of up to $9850. Families can be eligible for education assistance of up to $9220. People granted refugee status become eligible for welfare payments immediately without having to wait the two-year period set for immigrants. Single applicants are eligible for a Newstart Allowance. Parents are eligible for Centrelink’s parenting payment. Refugees, and some on bridging visas, also receive Medicare assistance for medical, hospital, dental, medicine and optical costs. Mobile phones are provided to those who arrive as unaccompanied minors.
This is the honeypot that has combined with civil strife to cause entire villages to empty in Sri Lanka and thousands of young men to travel from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Pakistan to get on illegal boats to Australia.
The viral email about Australia’s generosity to refugees may be wrong in its details, but the truth is a story of government gullibility without end.

My bold in the quotes
Tallarook, Gillard, Rudd, Greece, Spain, Fukushima, Jo Chandler, and the sizzle of snags on a barbie
Things are crook in Tallarook as the whole world seems to be in a worrying spin of decline and crisis.Close to home it looks like Ray’s hopes of a love resurrection for Labor may be on very rocky ground indeed with polling now showing that his blessed Kevin Rudd would not hold his seat at the next election:
But there’s more as the expected crisis in the euro zone is coming to a pustular head as panic stricken Greeks and Spaniards attempt to protect their savings by withdrawing their money from the banks which is precipitating the gamblers on the stock market to likewise run screaming from the markets:
Meanwhile Brendan O’Neil explains to us just why the Green panic about Nuclear energy is hurting Japan in a far more serious way than the tsunami disaster at Fukushima with more set to die in Japan’s sweltering summer than met their end as a result of the reactor crisis.
Closer to home though it seems that Jo Chandler has been busy following the Fuzzy Wuzzy twitter-verse again as she gives us a rather patronising exposition of PNG politics where she waxes lyrically about the potential for “activists” to influence the results of the election through social networking. Maybe someone should explain to her that maybe good governance and an end to endemic corruption might just be more efficacious to that country rather than more idiots taking to Twitter:
Well that’s what I have found on this morning’s trawl of the world’s news and views. Not quite sure that I can do better in terms of unifying this into something that is internally consistent as an argument beyond my initial observation that “Things are crook in Tallarook” But then that is just the way that I see things this morning. On a brighter note I’m off to a Barbie at the other end of the known universe (Cleveland ) today which should be a nice day out in my sports car with my daughter .
