Bolt’s boring fan club just keep boosting his popularity

Andrew Bolt would probably respond to them if they had any credibility or a decent following. I am surprised Crikey keeps them on.

I am no fan of Herald Sun journalist Andrew Bolt.

I know that Iain is but even Iain doesnt quote him a lot. He doesnt “fawn up” to him he just agrees with Bolts point of view. Fair enough.

I reckon if you dont like a particular journalist and the way he presents his opinions, then the best thing to do about it is ignore him and not turn him into a martyr by dedicating half your life to writing crap about him, analysing his every word, quoting him daily – several times daily – and setting up blog after blog after blog after blog about him until you finally come up with this one, now devoted almost entirely to paying disrespect to someone whose opinions most intelligent people can work out for themself anyway without the help of the so-called ‘protectors of intellectual honesty’.

Seriously guys – your as boring as all shit.

The thing you have to remember Socky is that since Tim Blair sued them because he was defamed by “Ant Rogenous” in a very early post they have been wandering around the electronic paddock like a bull that has had his nuts off, Now they dare not even allow mention of Tim by their commentators, so rather than holding the RWDB to account they quiver with fear that they will be held accountable in the courts. I just crack up when I see Tobias Ziegler telling regulars that they can not mention Tim”s name .

We will have to agree to disagree about Andrew Bolt like him or loathe him he does follow politics closely enough to respect his experience.

Well Iain my post is not about Bolt. As I said I think its a waste of precious cyber space, time, energy and half your life to focus on some character far removed from your own petty life.

Speaks volumes of who you are and how much self esteem you got I reckon.

Bolts got lots of self esteem. Obviously. And these 3 “musketeers” are just pumping him up with their nutso criteeking of everything he says. They have raised him to Messiah status. I guess thats what underlings & plebs do – pay homage to people clearly bigger & greater than they are.

But, in the words of Paul Keating, Iain, I will “do them slowly”.

Enough for now – more later.

  3. SockPuppet says:

Well I did not think this would come so soon in my promise to “do them slowly” Iain but here is the first fat cab off the rank Iain.

This post: Weekend talk thread July 16-18 July 16, 2010 – 2:50 pm, by Tobias Ziegler (http://blogs.crikey.com.au/purepoison/2010/07/16/weekend-talk-thread-july-16-18/) was written as you can clearly see about 6 hours ago today and guess what?

Poor old Tubby has only got 3 comments so far.

He should stick to his pissy dumb graphs that f*cknose what they mean. At least they appear to make him sound scientific & intellectual.

    Poor Tubby.

  4. PKD says:

Yeah well Bolt does say some pretty stupid things on his blog.
I mean REALLY stupid things designed to whip the masses up into a frenzy.
You can tell this cause he saves his lucid arguments for his breakfast TV and radio gigs.

His blog mantra seems to be to generate as much controversy as possible and therefore as much traffic for his employers. So if he generates vociferous opposition to his polemics is it really the fault of those who react to the polemics, or Bolt himself?

    I vote Dolt!

  5. SockPuppet says:

“if he generates vociferous opposition to his polemics is it really the fault of those who react to the polemics, or Bolt himself?”

Yes it is Bolts “fault” PK Gum. Or more correctly it is Bolts intention to stir up the masses and get more attention.

My point is that PP and Jeremy and the other two “musketeers” are playing into Bolts hands and giving him exactly what he and the HS want – attention.

Who the f*ck do they think they are convincing that “Bolt is wrong” (which is their basic premise), the reactionary knee jerkers?

No they are only convincing those people who already think that anyway. And, as a benefit to Bolt, they are convincing the others that Bolt is worth listening to.

  6. gigdiary says:

Geez, thanks for explaining what your post was about. I agree with you; these others are inadvertently drawing attention to him. On the other hand I also agree with what Bolt says…

  7. SockPuppet says:

I do not agree with you gigguy on both counts. These others are deliberately drawing attention to him. They are doing that in the misguided belief it makes them sound superior.

  8. gigdiary says:

Geez, Socky, you’re good, I misused ‘inadverently’ trying to be clever, and you caught me out… you’re absolutely right, on both counts…

Sorry, my Scrabble dictionary gave me the wrong word…

I still agree with Andrew, so can we have a chat next time I come to Victoria? I like to visit me Mum, she lives in Leopold. So on the way back I could stop off for a bevvy…

  9. SockPuppet says:

That is alright gigguy and I understand – it was probably the booze.
I do not know where Leopold is. Is it near Cranbourne South? I live near Patterson Lakes. Next to the freeway. In the 30 footer. If you make it down in the next few weeks Laura will still be here. She drinks a lot but she is a good root.

  10. gigdiary says:

Leopold? Geelong, old son! That’s what I meant. When I drive the old Audi down that way, I could stop by….but of course I wouldn’t without an invite.

Laura eh? you’ve done well… as for the booze, Socky I can’t string two words together without a heart-starter…

  11. MK says:

“since Tim Blair sued them because he was defamed by “Ant Rogenous””

Really? Didn’t hear about that one, that explains why he disappeared into the ether.

As for the obsession with Andrew Bolt, maybe they have some sort of man crush or something. 🙂

  12. SockPuppet says:

You must have been out hunting for 2 years MK. I will explain to you:

Ant Rogenous (who is an alias) alleged on the very first day or two that PP opened that he or someone he knows had caught Blair out sockpuppeting on his own blog and made a big deal about it and brought Blairs integrity into disrepute causing “immeasurable hurt”.

But Blair said the IP address of his computer was shared with his cat so Ant (the alias) could not prove Blair was a sockpuppet (let that be a lesson to some people eh!) and so he sued Crikey and got a retraction, a deletion of the post, a apology (and another apology later) and also got Grods closed down.

Thats as I saw it anyway.

The moral of the story I think is that people that live in fake plastic houses and use no real name should not throw stones & shit at people who live in real brick houses with real names because they are real people with real lives and real reputations but the stone thrower is too scared to say who he really is.
