Big fish, little fish

It appears that the man who was brought before a status review board a few days ago is a very big fish indeed Khalid Shaikh Mohammed is by his own admission most directly involved with the planning of a great number of the most atrocious acts of terror of our times and I look forward to his being brought to trial for his crimes. Unlike the rather foolish antipodean would be foot soldier, so beloved of the left (and those who claim to be of the “center”) this man admits being a planner and instigator of such vile acts for which the many dead demand justice. The question is how do we apply  justice to a man with so much innocent blood on his hands? A quick death at the end of a needle does not seem in any sense adequate…

It was however no surprise that SBS  news trotted out a “terrorism expert” to suggest that Mohammed MUST have been pressured into his admissions; Shessh do people really buy that?

Mohammed ‘confessed to 9/11, Pearl murder’

From correspondents in Washington
March 16, 2007

TOP al-Qaeda suspect Khalid Sheik Mohammed has confessed to plotting 31 terror attacks including September 11 and personally beheading US journalist Daniel Pearl, the Pentagon said overnight.
In a closed-door hearing before a panel of US military officers, the Pakistani national admitted to masterminding terror attacks and plots around the world, according to a partial transcript released by the Pentagon.

“I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z,” Mohammed said in a statement, read by a US military officer at the hearing held at the US camp for “war on terror” suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Overnight, the Pentagon confirmed that Mohammed also said he had murdered Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, whose videotaped beheading shocked the world in 2002.

“I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl, in the city of Karachi, Pakistan,” Mohammed said in the statement read out at the hearing.

“For those who would like to confirm, there are pictures of me on the Internet holding his head,” he said.

Mohammed’s admission to taking Pearl’s life was deleted from the transcript until the journalist’s family had been notified, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said.

A suspected senior deputy to Osama bin Laden, Mohammed claimed responsibility for an array of other terrorist attacks, including the 1993 World Trade Centre bombing and the 2002 bombing of a nightclub in Bali, Indonesia, according to the transcript.

He also claimed to have devised attacks in Britain, Singapore and the Panama Canal, and had planned to kill the Pope and former US presidents.(source)

Also in the news was the sentencing of that former Australian resident Willie Brigitte to 9 years jail, what is with the French? Are they already so cowered by a significant Islamic minority that they cant take terrorists like this man seriously enough to give them a truly adequate sentence? Reports on the radio this morning suggest that he could be back on the streets in 2 1/2 years!!

You must feel proud about the contribution your blogging has made to these outcomes, and the embarrassment you claim they have caused to the “left”, Iain.

  2. Keith says:

Iain, now the lefties want it both ways. (surprise surprise)
I terrorist who denies involvement is “unjustly imprisoned”.
A terrorist who admits involvement was “pressured” into making that admission.
According to these fools, there are no terrorists!

  3. The Editor says:

    Deleting history again, Iain?

  4. Iain says:

    Scott
You can manage your blog as you please and so can I.
The question that comes to mind is just what are you doing sniping at me from the school computer when you should be preparing to teach your students instead. Is the Headmaster there good with that? Or are you claiming to that you are doing “research” on the net?

  5. PKD says:

    “what is with the French?”

Apart from being pretentious poo sniffers?

Wow – what wit and intelligence your insight brings to a debate Fang! No wonder Iain loves you so much, that’s just the sort of childish comments he used to so love from David Tan (you’re not him in disguis are you?)

    Rgrds,

  6. PKD says:

Wow – I rest my case – nothing more needs saying…

  7. Keith says:

Thanks Fang…you succeeded in shutting PKD up!

  8. PKD says:

Well this is no point in debating with stupidity is there….

  9. Iain says:

well we make allowances for you anyway PKD 8)

I too agree this is a very big fish indeed. This guy arranged much of the havoc wreaked by the muslims in the west. If only they had kept him in rendition a bit longer, he might have confessed to the UK and Spanish bombings, we could have wrapped up this War On Terror before the election … cut to Howard in full Commander In Chief regalia stating “Mission Accomplished!”

  11. Iain says:

    Welcome back Bref 🙂

I don’t buy the suggestions that this chap is singing from a CIA song sheet; some of his claims may well be “enhanced” but more from a wish to boast about his exploits than as a reaction to his treatment.
Sadly I think that this war with militant Islam will not be quickly concluded, nor will denying how serious the threat actually is do anyone a favor.

  12. Keith says:

If we lose this war against islam there’ll be one saving grace–I’ll get to see the feminazis, gay activists, pacifists, postmodern deconstructionist academics and fellow-traveller lefty reporters getting themselves either stoned to death or having their heads sawn off.

  13. Bref says:

Dear Oh Dear Keith. So much angst. I thought the war was against terror not islam. We will never know if Mohammed is boasting or actually did all those things, the claims will never be properly tested in a court of law. I agree Iain, the middle east problems won’t go away quickly, but with the US behaving like a bull in a china shop, the problems there have increased 1000 fold. With the Saudis and the Russians now showing interest, lets hope this doesn’t blow up into something much bigger.

  14. Keith says:

“I thought the war was against terror not islam.”

    more fool you.

  15. PKD says:

well we make allowances for you anyway PKD

I know – ’tis very generous of you allowing me to try reasoning with stupidity like Fangs and, and…oh lets just leave it at that shall we? 😉
