One of the things that I love about WordPress is the way that you can follow other wordpress blogs that you may discover.
Below are some of the blogs that I am following and I have created this page as a supplement to my blogroll.
Yoga Gumbo
I’m a suburb-dwelling, yoga-practicing mom, writer and adventurous amateur (very amateur!) chef. This blog has become my creative outlet — as my tagline says, a simmering pot where I can write about my asana practice, endeavors in the kitchen, insights learned from my kids…whatever comes to mind. I write anonymously not to hide my identity, but to be free from any self-imposed constraints that might inhibit me.”
Le poulet Noir
I’m a London-based liberal with a hatred of fleeces.
“Dealing in debt, and stealing in the name of the Lord” is a line from Papa Was a Rolling Stone, by Barrett Strong and Norman Whitfield (and recorded by The Temptations). It doesn’t have much personal significance (Papa Was a Gynaecologist would be more apt) except that the opening line – “It was the third of September/ That day I’ll always remember” – has proved useful for memorising my sister’s birthday.
In these Heels?
It’s worth noting that I’ve never liked writing pages like these. My name, as you’ve probably guessed, is Isabel Joely Black, or Dr Black, or Ms Black, depending on who you are and what you want. I grew up on a smallholding in the middle of darkest Shropshire, which left me with a fascination for global environmental and social issues, and gave me the impetus for pursuing a degree in Geography.
oboerista
I am a professional classical musician, currently living in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. I am originally from Lakewood, New Jersey, moved to Boston for my formal musical training at the New England Conservatory of Music, and then moved to Washington to perform in the U.S. Navy Band as that group’s principal oboist.
Parenting Abused Children
I am a mother of two children who is rebuilding her life after escaping domestic violence. I have always dreamed of being a mother… Never have I imagined that baking cookies, watching cartoons, and snapping cute (but embarassing) photos would involve the trauma of child abuse. Parenting Abused Children is a site to offer hope and support for families of abused children, and to give voice to children who cannot speak for themselves.
What Sorts of People
This blog is the combined effort of a team of researchers and community members working around the world in different disciplines to address concerns around human variation, normalcy, and enhancement. This blog is a place for academics, community members and individuals alike to connect, find information and discuss issues related to the What Sorts? project.
David Bath
Balneus aims to provide comment and dialogue on a wide range of subjects that influence society, including the sciences, the humanities, economics, and, of (unavoidably), what Aristotle saw as the highest art, requiring synthesis of all other disciplines, politics.
It hopes to learn from those who disagree with it.
Old man in a cave
The blog was, originally, going to be about pursuing the meaning of existence; early entries are mainly on this subject. But more people read the entries about the climate than the ones about philosophy, so its nature has changed over time. Like the old man himself, though, it will surely change again.
Big Yellow Taxi
Greenish antics of Nige to grow, build and make a gr8 world
I’m not hitting 30 yet, have an English country life, a (semi-unfortunately) corporate IT waif job and a wonderful amazing fantastic family of four ladies at home with me.
So I wanted to start a blog to capture some moments and hopefully share thoughts and adventures as I attempt a greenish life and some euth-frugal-aware lifestyle choices.
Charlie’s Space
I am one of life’s moaners and got myself a blog so that I can moan to people around the world. Believe me, there are plenty of people in my life that will appreciate the fact I have somewhere else to vent my frustration, instead of bending their ear.
Not a Hedgehog
Murphy Klasing’s Conservative Blog
I firmly believe in God, I firmly believe in Capitalism, I believe in a government for and by the people and I believe that the role of government should be as limited as possible without creating anarchy in society. I believe that lower taxes means more income for everyone–including the government. I believe that taxes should be assessed on consumption, not on success (income). Poor should not be forgotten but Rich should not be demonized. Health Care should be a private industry and Immigration laws should be ENFORCED!
Selma in the City
I’m a freelance writer and work part-time for a small publisher in Sydney. I am constantly waiting for my ship to come in. I often feel like I don’t belong. I worry about a lot of things – the unequal distribution of wealth in the world, global warming, war in the name of religion, whether or not Paris Hilton will ever open that rehabilitation centre for female DUI offenders. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to write about them all.
Tizona’s Weblog
This blog was originally started by Tizona, who is named after the favourite sword of El Cid. Once Tizona began, the contributing team grew quickly, culminating in Tizona’s Weblog now having seventeen authors, whom are Tizona himself, then (in alphabetical order): Angus Dei, Ash, Bingbingloveshisblingbling, Dminor, Killaette, MentalFloss, Minicapt, Missredi, Nilk, Rebecca, Saltydog, SandiM, Smeac, Spot_the_dog and SwinishCapitalist.
Blackadder’s Lair
Blackadder is a man of mystery, but in his spare time he blogs. He would sometimes describe himself as conservative, sometimes as libertarian, though both terms have a lot of baggage associated with them (for the record: no, he doesn’t want to nuke Mecca, and yes, he does have a job). It also doesn’t help that he changes his mind a lot.
Auto World
‘This is a blog about cars, the latest news in the auto world, reviews, photos, video, a description of cars, story about autocrash and many others. Every day you can find here a lot of useful information, talk to friends, to share experiences.
Ignatius Sancho’s Weblog
Born into servitude, self educated, emancipated, the living proof that negroes were not inferior, can be educated, and moreover, could articulate themselves in a manner that made it clear they were more than intellectually equal. - Ignatius Sancho
Screaming Blue Reviews
Screaming Blue Movie Reviews is a site for fresh and intelligent criticism of film, DVD, and television. We are not “professional” critics, and we are not paid for our efforts. We are instead determined to approach each review with honesty, candor, and fairness. Basically, we care enough about film that we’re tired of ill-considered reviews, sloppy bandwagon marketing, and disingenuous hype elevating substandard films to the level of art. Rather than just bitch about it, we’ve started this site to provide an alternative.
Just Me, Really
My name is Jackie, I’ve been married to Gordon for 20 years and we have two daughters, Alexandra (19) and Stephanie (16). We’re dairy farmers in Somerset.
Bluestherapy’s Weblog
Started life as a Music Teacher, moving eventually to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
Back to Uni in my 30’s to re-skill as a Psychotherapist.
Live amongst palm trees on the beach.
Ideologically Impure
Queen of Thorns is many things, and one of them is “confused about the benefits/disadvantages of labels”. Until she figures out what information is actually important to give this blog context, and what just leads to counter-productive assumption-making, that’s all you’re getting.
Shattersnipe
Shattersnipe features, but is not limited to: strange thoughts, left-wing whinges, geeky diatribes, opinionated ramblings and other such clutter from the proverbial Third Drawer Down, The One With The Sticky Handle That Always Jams Halfway Shut. Probably There’s Something Stuck On The Track? I Don’t Know, We’ve Tried To Fix It Like, Four Times.
