I am interested to find out where my readers stand in the political spectrum so I have created a poll to find out. While we are at it there is the question of religion Cheers Comrades

A clever method of discouraging rioters

This has to qualify as a very clever piece of lateral thinking when it comes to dealing with troublesome rioters that you can’t, for various reasons , just shoot with live rounds.

Warning: may not be effective against Feral Greenies

JERUSALEM: Israeli security forces have started to use liquid “skunk bombs” to disperse demonstrators in the occupied West Bank, police said yesterday.

Israeli defence scientists analysed the foul-smelling liquid squirted by angry or frightened skunks and created a synthetic version for use as a weapon.

They said border police used the new crowd-control method for the first time at the weekend near the Palestinian village of Nilin at the weekly demonstration against Israel’s separation barrier.

Use of the stinking liquid was given the green light by medical and legal authorities, police said.

It can be hurled by hand or with a special device, forcing most demonstrators to disperse and rush off to change their clothes because of the unbearable stench.

Although I think there may be some problems using this method against some of the “Greenies” who want to protest against the coal industry or oil interests in the name of Gaia (due to their aversion to soap and water) It would certainly make their subsequent detection and arrest easier.

  1. That’s right Iain, it would be wasted on ‘feral’ protesters. Far better to use it on the likes of :

Mountain cattlemen protesting the ban on Alpine grazing

Knee jerk National Party voters protesting the N/S pipe line from Eildon to Melbourne – it’s “our water” they cry. “Oh yeah, cop this”.

James Reyne and his ‘blue wedge’ ilk protesting the absolutely essential dredging of the Port Philip Bay shipping channels.

Those old farts who stripped down to their underwear at Flinders St Station – regardless of how worthy their cause may have been.

The morons up your way conducting vigilante campaigns on ex-prisoners.

The next Liberal Party national conference.

  2. But will it work against “Save Bright ” Ray ?

  3. No, as you said Iain, it doesn’t work on ferals.
