I am interested to find out where my readers stand in the political spectrum so I have created a poll to find out. While we are at it there is the question of religion Cheers Comrades

Dennis Ferguson, beyond redemption?

Carbrook residents furious over Dennis Ferguson move

More than 600 angry residents gathered to demand serial pedophile
Dennis Ferguson leave their community. Inset: Police Minister Judy Spence.

I have been following this story since it broke a week or so ago and if nothing else it  vindicates the Judge’s opinion that Ferguson would not be able to get a fair trial anywhere in Queensland.

What a terrible ethical dilemma this man presents, silvertail socialist lawyers would argue that that as he has done his time. he should be allowed to re-enter society, to enjoy his freedom but the people are not having any of it, first at Miles and then at his new location the community have staged very rowdy protests about his presence. But it seems that due to a loophole in the law the government can not detain him as a risk to society. So instead they are prepared to pay a Christian group $1000 a day to look after him. Really you could not write this stuff as part of a farce.

I actually feel some sympathy for the Queensland government on this one, They can’t put Ferguson in jail where he and the community would be safe from each other, and they can’t just leave his fate to the fearful parents who would see him dead or mutilated to “save their kids”. As a parent I know how they feel the thought that such a man could be anywhere near my children sends a shiver down my spine.

Perhaps the only solution is to pass legislation that would enable them to detain scrotes like Ferguson for the rest of their lives for their  own safety, and the protection of our children, because there is no freedom when a man is in fear of his life all of the time and as a repeat offender this man is clearly beyond redemption.

  1. Dennis Ferguson is quite the ethical dilemma. No one wants him in their community and rightly so because his chances of not offending again are low at best. Yet he served his time and by law should enjoy his freedom. But he has re-offended but can’t be tried due to the judge thinking he can’t get a fair trial. I agree that the laws should change to keep these maggots in prison for life because everyone knows they don’t change.
But the question for now is, “What do we do with him now?”

I’m not keen on my tax dollars going toward his housing and protection nor am I keen on his being harmed by the public only because some concerned parent could end up in prison with the likes of him.

People like Dennis Ferguson are a pain in the arse!!!

  2. Welcome to my blog Lisa and Dave :)
    Dave
My generalisations about Silvertail socialists are not just just plucked from the air, I have seen such arguments put about other cases, and Queensland, like the other states does not have any facility in the law to do as you suggest, and due to a legal loophole Ferguson can’t be detained under the dangerous prisoners act either.
    Lisa
your final line is sadly especially true for the little boys that are his target of choice…

  3. Not in Queensland Dave, which is why he has two policemen guarding him 24/7 Frankly as I live in Queensland I think I know the law up here well enough to know what I am talking about
Under the law Ferguson is a “free” man and entitled to enjoy his liberty, despite the fact that he is a most disreputable individual. Now what is the bet that were he say a convicted terrorist out after doing his time you would join my “silvertail socialist” friend in denouncing those who would impinge upon his liberty.
As I say in my post this poses a very difficult ethical dilemma and I am thankful that I don’t have to sort it out.
BTW “he’s an arsehole and he deserved it” is precisely the defence made by a number of battered wives who kill their abusive partners.
Kindly don’t tell me how to put my arguments at my own blog, it is in fact more far ignorant that my citing an opinion from someone that I do not wish to name.

  4. Dave? AWOL’s name is Dave? I didn’t know that. So now we’ve got two “Dave’s”, Dave from Albury & Dave from Albury-Wodonga? Or are they one in the same? I don’t think so, but I’m getting bloody confused here.

  5. I thought it was but you now have me confused, he does not deny it I only used it because his user name is too long to type out every time, your acronym is a better idea though.

  6. Well if AWOL’s name is Dave, then the acronym would be DAWOL, which sounds like Daewoo, which is a crap car … so maybe just call him Korea or Taiwan.

  7. What’s a “silvertail socialist”?

  8. Noel It is some one from the “upper” classes who takes up the ideology of the left and then proceeds to claim that they know what poverty and suffering really is.

  9. I wonder – is it okay for someone from the “upper” classes to be a leftist, or do they have a duty to all be conservatives by virtue of their birth?
