Magazines like New Idea are basically crap, usually concerned with the trivial ephemera about movie actors, musicians and of course the British Royal Family with a few recipes and some dieting advice thrown in it is neither high art or intellectually challenging, perfect fodder for the filling of idle time between loads of washing and doing the vacuum cleaning.
The move comes after it was reported yesterday how the New Idea‘s former editor-in-chief, Robyn Foyster, has been telling people she’s had death threats since the story ran.
Foyster has gone to ground fearing for her own wellbeing, The Sun-Herald reported.
She’s now on three month’s leave, having resigned from New Idea in December last year and is due to take up the position of editor at rival publication Women’s Weekly in June.
In its latest issue published today, New Idea said it was sorry it was not “alert to the possible ramifications” of running the story about Harry’s secret tour of duty, which appeared in the magazine and on its website in January.
Few people noticed the initial report, but a scandal erupted after US website The Drudge Report picked up the story and broadcast it around the world, breaching an agreed global media blackout.
