Flypaper

Regardless of the progress of the war in Iraq I have long thought that for the west there is some value in the focus of the war on terror being over there rather than here, in the US or the UK and this report from the Canada Free Press makes the case for using Iraq as a sort of flypaper to attract the world’s Jihadists. the photo-shop image that I also include from that page says better than a thousand words how the useful idiots of the left will end up expediting the cause of the Jihadists …

Regardless of the reason the U.S. is in Iraq, the fact remains that this overall battlespace is where many of the motivated jihadists have gone to shoot infidels, saw off heads, dance around burned bodies, make things that go BOOM, incite mayhem and generally try to find their way to Mohammad’s big oasis pool party. The fact that American and coalition forces are in the country is serving as a sort of jihadist ‘fly paper’. It is well known that most of the insurgents in Iraq are not Iraqi citizens. They come from all over the globe, including the U.S. and most European countries. Some come to Iraq already trained. Most are baby jihadists who have traveled there to become big important jihadists.

So what you’re saying, Iain, is that we should invade sovereign countries so that we can wage our “war on terror” in their backyard instead of ours and so that their innocent citizens end up as collateral damage instead of ours.

    Nice.

    Scott
If we have to fight a war it is always better, from our point of view, that it should be fought in someone else’s backyard.
Or would you rather the battle be fought in the street where you live?
